The fall of 2023 was particularly warm and dry, so much so that we were able to hike up to Ice Lakes with only microspikes and sit in the sun to paint for the afternoon. While it was nice to have such a beautiful day at a popular spot and have it mostly to ourselves, the effects of climate change are always in the back of my mind.
